We, the leadership team of Faith United Church of Christ have the joyful task of letting you know that on Sunday, November 17, 2019 5pm-8pm, at Porretta’s Banquets located at 3718 N. Central Avenue, you all are invited to a banquet to celebrate with other members of Faith UCC and those attending from the organizations who will be the recipients of our legacy gifts.
We hope that you and yours can attend to celebrate our church and Faith Church’s legacy gifts to the recipient organizations and support the furtherance of their missions and celebrate our missional presence in the Portage Park community for so many years.

The vote of the Congregation on 10/9/2019 unanimously affirmed the sale of our building and property.

The last scheduled worship and communion service of Faith UCC was held at 10:30AM on 9/15/19!
It is with discernment and sorrow we share with you the promptings of the Holy Spirit to dissolve the institution of Faith UCC. God has revealed to the Leadership Team and congregation – individually and corporately – that in order to steward our time, talents and treasures most effectively for the Kingdom we will need to close. It is a big and hard ask from The Lord; but one we have stepped out in faith to say “yes” to.
Thus, we celebrated the life of Faith UCC during our last regular weekly service with a communion service and a meal with our gathered friends and members on June 30, 2019 at 10:30 AM. It was the homecoming of a faithful compelling Christian community that has served Jesus and the Portage Park community for the past century.
September 15 was our last worship and communion service, it was followed by a fellowship meal and celebration of Pastor Julie Jane Capel as our pastor.. The church building and property are being sold. An offer is being negotiated. As events unfold in that process we will post information here. Thanks for those of you have been with us during this part of our congregation’s faith journey in worship and in prayer. We all are going out…

The Praying Pelican Missions trip for Hosanna Lutheran Church (Mandeville, LA) called Faith Church home in Chicago from 6/15-6/21, 2019 as they served various community needs in Chicago.
